Con Like A Dragon Infinite Wealth, SEGA prosegue la storia di Ichiban Kasuga, personaggio che ha fatto il suo debutto in Yakuza 7, portando la storia fuori dal Giappone, nelle assolate Hawaii.
Like A Dragon Infinite Wealth riprende la formula del predecessore presentando quindi un gameplay di stampo action RPG con elementi legati all'esplorazione e alla risoluzione di enigmi, senza dimenticare il combat system ripreso in parte da quello di Like A Dragon.
